For several years the Castle Woods area has been awarded a Green Pennant Award by Keep Wales Tidy. Cleared space is used by local schools and trees donated by the Woodland Trust have been planted. MDT has been and continues to be involved in many Environmental projects, such as tree planting as part of the Better Woodland Wales grant for Clyne Valley Country Park. The Trust was one of the first groups in the UK to receive 420 free trees from the Woodland Trust as part of its ‘More Trees, More Good’ campaign. Other projects have included building a Bug Hotel and a Community Orchard in Oystermouth Castle Woods. MDT would like to thank HSBC bank for providing volunteers to help with general clearance work over the past couple of years.
